Book this repairWDT tubs and the older push-button panels. F8E4 when water reaches the drip tray, F9E1 when the filter or the disposer knockout is blocking the drain, or a wash arm that has stopped turning.
Book this repairCoil, glass and gas tops. A surface element that only works on high, a burner cap that will not light evenly, or a touch panel throwing an F2 because the keypad or its harness has failed.

Cause
Detergent had dried into a crust around the strike, so the latch never travelled far enough to register.
Fixed
Lock assembly cleaned out, strike checked, then replaced anyway because the plunger was already worn. 45 minutes.

Cause
Coin trap solid with lint and two nickels. The pump was running the whole time but shifting nothing.
Fixed
Trap emptied and rinsed, hose checked back to the standpipe, drain timed on a rinse to confirm.

Cause
Thermistor open circuit at the blower housing. Element and thermal fuse both tested good and stayed in.
Fixed
Thermistor replaced, vent run checked end to end while the back was off. 40 minutes on site.

Lid will not unlock

Cause
Laundry basket sitting on the lid. The machine reads weight up there and refuses to release the lock.
Fixed
Nothing to repair. Told the caller to take the basket off and run a rinse. No visit, no charge.

Ice creeping back over the coil
Whirlpool WRF French-door fridge
Cause
Defrost temperature sensor reading out of range, so the heater was never being asked to run.
Fixed
Coil thawed, sensor replaced, defrost cycle forced once by hand and the compartment left to settle.
Lewisville July Same visit

Cause
Bottom door wiper had hardened and let a slow trickle run down into the tray under the tub.
Fixed
Wiper and door gasket both renewed, tray dried, float freed, and a full cycle run to be sure.

Whirlpool is the machine most Moncton houses came with, which means most of these calls end in a basement. Low ceilings, a floor drain, a washer and dryer squeezed against the far wall. We are used to working down there and we bring our own light.
